The seminar addressed the challenge of managing end-of-life lithium-ion batteries, driven by the rapid expansion of electric mobility and portable electronics. Prof. Bontempi presented innovative pyrometallurgical strategies based on hybrid microwave-assisted carbothermic processes for the selective recovery of strategic metals from spent batteries.
